SMC Namur Valve, 5/2

Namur valves bolt directly to an actuator and give electrical over air control of a butterfly or ball valve. They are compact and easy to install with the hardware included. 

How do they work?

Namur valves require a constant air supply, When you apply the appropriate voltage either 12 or 24Volts DC depending on the valve selected the coil will energise and send air to the actuator resulting in it opening or closing.

You can use any electric switch to control the valve or a device like a PLC or other controller.

Our Namur valves are 5/2, which provides air to the closed port when the coil is not energised or the open port when the coil is energised. This means they will work with spring return or double-acting actuators.
