A Laser Focus on Water Trucks

Our goal is to offer the best solutions to the water truck industry.

We have built a reputation for manufacturing one of the most reliable water truck systems on the market; the T-Rex Tanks. While we have taken a rest from the tank fabrication business we are more focused then ever on refining our talents at building and integrating great water truck systems.

We have a large specialty tooled workshop that enables us to build and maintain water trucks to the highest standard. We have the unique ability to fabricate, modify and rebuild just about every component found on a water truck.

We have been in the water truck industry for almost 15 years and for us this is just the beginning.

We are building a fleet of modern, efficient water trucks that are available for hire. Our trucks are fully equiped and can be modified to meet any specific requirement.

R&L Jones Engineering Pty Ltd was founded by Rex and Lynne Jones on the 1st of July 1986. Initially, Rex provided boilermaking services to local quarries in Melbourne's outer suburbs. This was hard, dirty work. Rex saw the shortcomings in the machines he was repairing and setup a small workshop in Sunshine to fabricate more durable machines.

Over time Rex's interests moved to the waste management industry were he built cable lift RORO systems for bins. This then turned into building tipper bodies and bins made from Hardox in the mid 90s well before it was a known brand.

The reputation Rex was known for is how we came in o the water truck industry. A customer of ours kept insisting that we have a look at a water truck they had just purchased that was cracking up. We realised that what was on the market was sub par and that our experience in building high strength tipper bodies could be adapted to making water trucks.

We have been focused on this small but growing industry ever since.
